I have a Gen 1 Model 17 and was shooting it today and got a light primer strike.

What parts should I replace to try to correct that?

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it wasn't the ammo?

If you are certain parts need to be replaced, a new striker and striker spring would be a good idea.  You could also start with just a spring and see if that does the trick before spending $50-ish on a striker.

You also might want to see if it has been upgraded with the new internals before spending money to fix it.

Gen-1's are collectors and shooters to me. If I were to replace anything, it would be the striker spring. As said earlier, it could be an ammo problem. Did this happen with just the one round or several?  If it's just one round, I usually put it back in the magazine and try again. 99% of the time it goes off.

First thing I'd do is to detail strip it and clean the crap out of it. If improperly lubed, the striker channel can accumulate lube, powder fouling and just general crap, which can lead to light strikes. Also, while it is apart, check for updates (if it has silver colored parts, it had the updates; if the internals are black, it needs updated) and spring replacement couldn't hurt, but try cleaning it first. Not just field stripping and hosing it down with cleaner, but actually detail stripping and cleaning. There are guides online about how to do it. If you still aren't sure or not mechanically inclined, find an armorer to do it.

I agree with above, I think it's probably crud in the striker channel.  If you're not all that familiar with stripping and cleaning the slide, search for "hickok45 glock cleaning 2" on youtube.  He shoots like most of us dream we could, probably forgot more than most of us know, so I think he knows what he's talking about on cleaning.
