| They make guns in runs, so if they don't have it in stock (and they seem to keep pretty minimal stock on hand), you have to wait until they do a run of them. I work for a pretty large kimber dealer part time, and every year before shot show we sit down and he plots out his order. Then, various kimber trickle in throughout the year (hell, for some of the less common models, he has put in the next year's order before they showed up). |

Yup, kimber does dealer direct (one of the main reasons my shop carries them). The boss always puts in a big order because he tries to mantainance every model and profile in stock, but it isn't easy. We have an active checklist that shows everything they make, and there are getting to be more and more 0's on it every month. Seems everybody wants the model we just sold the last of. Unfortunately, your best bet is to wait until your dealer can get the one you want, or hit gunbroker (I hate this option). |
