Finally got off my rear and did some pistol work at the range. I only put about two mags through my NIB G30 before the pad of my trigger finger felt like I'd whacked it with a hammer. Never had this sensation with my G21 (didn't have it with me for an apples-to-apples comparison) but I'd bought that one used & probably well broken in.

Is this something that eventually works itself out, should I look at doing a trigger replacement or is this a defect?

You can replace the serrated trigger w/trigger bar in the G30 with a G21/20 trigger w/trigger bar.  You can buy them from Glockmeister or Lone Wolf Dist.  About $15 unless you know a Glock certified armorer, which then their price is about $7 or so.  It's very easy change out as well.

Let me look through my junk, I may have a used one that you can have free of charge if you'll pay me back for shipping it to you.  And if you at all mechanically inclined I can walk you through replacing, takes less than 3 minutes and no fitting required.

THAT's gonna leave a mark!

I have a buddy who has just retired from the Secret Service who is one of the most talented shooters I have ever seen...and I have seen some VERY talented shooters in my time. He swears he is unable to do good work with Glocks because of the same "trigger slap" you have described. They never do that to me, so I simply cannot relate, but I have no doubt that he is telling the truth about what they do to him.

I would shoot it some more, and if this is still a problem, then try the replacement suggested by gotm4. Maybe it will cure your problem.

I have experienced this too, but I shot through the discomfort and never tried to correct it.

Kolt, you owe me a new keyboard, you 'tard. Besides, I don't think I could get it zipped up past the thatch of back hair. Noticed the serrations on the trigger after posting and will try smoothing them out a bit before looking at the outright trigger swap. GotM4, much obliged for the offer and I'll definitely drop a line if I lose the dress and get all mechanical.

See, now this is what I'm talking about. Guys post all kinds of dressed up guns and we are supposed to be impressed. The guns also look like they see very little range time. But this guy shoots em and thats what counts!
Beautiful picture dude.

Let me guess, you cased them there and back, and did use a holster at all?

Mexican carry a Glock!!!!! I hope you didn't tuck it in the front!

Thems some dirty pistols.

Sorry about the tone of my post, in retrospect it sounded accusatory, I meant to sound more like a mind reader.....

G19s, G23s, G26s, G27s, G29s, G30s, G32s, G33s, G36s & G38s, suffer from the 1968 GCA that requires import 'points'.   A serrated trigger counts as a 'target' trigger and allows more 'points' required for importation.  Same reason many Glock medium and small frame ones come in this country with adjustable rear sights that are later changed out to fixed rears because the importation of 'target' sights have more points.  Just goes to show that the liberal ANTIs are dumbasses.
