Trying to make up my mind here and have a few questions. Which one of these is considered more compact? What exactly is the LEM trigger? I looked at a USP compact that was DAO and I was amazed at how light the double action trigger was compared to my fullsize USP. Is the double action trigger pull this light on the one with the decocker at the rear of the slide?

Also What are your thoughts on the P2000SK? Is it the same as the P2000 just more compact?       thanks

I have had and carried both.  I like the HK USP compact much better.  It is not quite as compact as the P-2000, just a little bulkier.  On the P-2000 I constantly hit the action release lever on the last round and the slide closes on an empty chamber, sometimes giving me a click before I realize that I have to reload.  No issues with the USP.  The LEM trigger on the P-2000 is also slightly different.  It seems to come back then stop and go back a little further before the shot breaks.  This causes anticipation and jerking the trigger.  The USP is a clean pull back until it breaks.  Just a matter of getting used to it, but still an issue if you are used to one and try the other.  Also, when I shot the P-2000 alot, I felt the slide start to get hot where this was not an issue with the USP (in .40 anyhow).  LEM trigger, you work the action and the trigger breaks at about 5 pounds, if you do not cycle the action (dry fire) the trigger gets much heavier, this is how you tell if it is LEM, DAO will have the same consistent pull all the way thru.  Hope this helps.

i rented a P2000 sk in 40s&w and shot a couple boxes through it however i bought a USP compact in .357 sig for my carry gun.i like the USP better so far but only having a couple boxes through each i think its to early for me to call a favorite. i like the idea that you can buy a P2000 and get both the 40 and 357 barrels in the package. and i was more accurate with the P2000 but like i said i wont judge until i have shot them more.

I have shot both a USP compact and the P2000 SK.  I ended up buying a P2000SK in 9mm with the LEM trigger.  I absolutely love this weapon.  I'm a small guy (5'5" 140 lbs), so concealment is difficult for me.  Anyway, aside from concealablilty, I shoot it really well.  I was debating for a while between the XD subcompact and the P2000SK.  The P2000SK fits my hand PERFECTLY.  I really didn't like where the decocker was on the back of the slide, and wanted a DAO anyway.  The LEM is the next best thing.  It took a few trips to the range to get used to it, but now that I am used to it, I shoot it well.  I really want to get another one in .40 S&W.

I carry a P2K in 40 with the LEM.  It is so comfortable to carry it darn near disappears.  It took some shooting to get used to but now it is so smooth it is ridiculous.  I also have one in 9mm and am thinking seriously of going to one in 357 Sig.

So when you use the double action trigger on the P2000 with the decocker it will pull hard even after racking the slide???

No.  The LEM trigger will have a pre-cocked striker after the slide is racked.  However if the round does not discharge, the second strike capability will kick in.  The second strike will have a much heavier pull.

both are great; h/w, the P2K offers more ergo friendly ness w/ the smoother lines and the interchangable backs, and i actually like the LEM trigger
