Where can I find one for a good price? Anybody else have one? How do you like them? Thanks SigmaShooter |

I got one last week. Here are a couple range reports that I posted on another forum: Range report 1: I took the 220 carry DAK out for a walk in the park today. I first cleaned and relubed it. Forgot the grease, but in a fix, used STP motor oil treatment on the slide and frame rails...turned out to be a good mix between grease and oil. I applied it to the rails with my fingertip, spread it with a used tooth brush, and wiped off the excess...worked great. Anyway, I intentionally chose the dirtiest, cheapest ammo I could find (WWB - I dont shoot Wolf) to see what she would take... Me, my brother, and a friend traded off firing 400 rnds of WWB as fast as we could while mixing slow and rapid fire. All 400 rnds went off without even a hint of a glitch or malfunction. Then, while it was still hot and very dirty, I ran a few boxes of Speer GDHPs through it, again without even a hint of a malfunction. Slow fire (still getting used to the DAK) I was able to put 8 rnds. at 15 yds. in a golf ball size group , with several rnds in the same hole. Rapid fire I could put a whole mag onto a paper plate sized group. (my brother couldnt hit the truck - from the INSIDE...so I guess the DAK isnt for everyone!) I hope to get better with the DAK with more practice/training, but the reliability and accuracy of the gun couldnt be better...Im very pleased. Damn thing goes BANG every time, and never slowed down. Shorter and lighter than my 5" 1911, although perhaps a little snappier, a hair wider slide and frame maybe, but every bit as concealable as the full size 1911...ecxellent CC piece for the .45! I highly recommend it... RANGE REPORT 2: Havent seen many posts on this gun so I thought I'd keep going - if anyone cares to read... Today I took the p220c out for another range session. Fired 350 rnds. without a hiccup....yesterday was 400+ if I remember correctly. Ammo used was WWB and CCI Brass. First 100 rnds or so I concentrated on slow fire and getting used to the trigger. I soon had folks gathering behind me to see just what was blowing out the center of the target...testament to the gun, not to me. I tried about 100 rnds using the trigger re-set as a stopping point for my next shot and did OK on slow fire, but groups spread out in rapid fire... The next 100 rnds or so I used the full trigger pull and my groups were much tighter in both slow and rapid fire...about golf ball size in slow fire, and about baseball size in rapid fire at 10 yds., with a few fliers in rapid - fliers were 2 or so inches outside the group... I found that with the DAK, I tend to shoot about 2-3 inches low, if anything, when shooting "full pull" rapid fire. But honestly, I can feel myself pulling the sight down...trigger control! But my groups are definitely tighter using the full trigger stroke than they are when using the reset point. I have carried a Glock 19C for a few years and cant say anything bad about it. But, Im much more satisified with my rapid fire groups with the 220 DAK than I am with the 19C - my groups are tighter. Dont ask me how, the 19C shoots flatter, with a quick reset, but my groups are better with the 220 DAK... So far I love it, and if this pace continues, I will like it even more with more range time. Those are my thoughts and experiences, yours are welcome.... |
