Ok, so I just picked up a used P220ST(Pic Below) locally, it was $500 OTD. I took it out yesterday and it was a blast to shoot I had no failures durring the normal course of firing. But, there is one issue. I am having a problem with the mags that it came with, they are factory 8 rounders with plastic bottom and follower. The first issue is that when loaded with the full 8 rounds it is near impossible to rack the slide back and chamber the first round. The second issue is if I load the first round and then attempt to remove the magazine to top off with another round, the magazine hangs(Pics Below). This happens no matter how many rounds the mag is loaded with. I think the problem is that the second round in the mag is being pushed forward to protrude slightly past the front of the magazine and this is causing friction/hanging so that i have to pull the magazine out instead of dropping free. The mag will drop freely if it is empty or if i do not chamber a round first. Below are a few pictures of the gun and the problem. Any help/suggestions would be excellent! Thanks guys

Close up of mag after pulling it out. You can see the second round has been pushed forward.

Do I just need new Mags??? I was looking at the newer ones and they seem to have a dimple that is supposed to help hold the round. Will this help my problem since it is the second round that is sliding. Atleast this doesn't affect the performance of the gun when firing... that way i can still shoot. Still it is very annoying - Thanks again guys

Can't say, I use the 7 round mags in my P220 and have never had any issues. Does it work ok with those?

May well be the mags.

I am not sure yet, it just came with these two 8-rounders. I have ordered some SIG 7 round mags from CDNN so we will see how it goes.

Looks like you have a couple of "older" stainless steel 8 round mags.  The newer SS 8 round mags have a dimple at the upper rear of the mag to keep the top round from jumping forward.  I have a few of each type of mag, and can tell no difference when firing them in my 220's.  Only difference I see is taking out the older style to top-off (looks like you last pic).  If it bothers you, pick up another new mag or two.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like the mags are the issue. They are factory, say Sig Sauer on the side. Hopefully they are just older models. I have some of the 7 rounders in the mail with the dimple at the top. Hopefully it will solve the issue, will post result when they come in.

Check then Double check your grip screws.....they could be too tight & the end of the screw  could be catching the mag........
