Hi, I am buying a German Made Sig P226 in 9mm, code is KE so it was made in 1994 and the buyer says it has a low round count. I asked for a picture of the internals and the barrel to see the "smileys" on the barrel.
This is the actual picture: http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/7033/1dscf2134.jpg We see the underside of the barrel and from what I know about sigs, I think they wear out more under the barrel than on top where we see the distinctive and usual smileys. The internals of the gun itself look in fairly good condition and you also have to note that he has practiced emergency and tactical reloads with this gun, so he didn't shoot it like it was a fragile thing. What do you guys think of it? |

Gun is good and used but I don't see anything that would scare me off. Depending on price. And every used pistol I've ever looked at had a "low round count". I suspect this one has been thru hundreds and probably thousands of rounds. Not that its a bad thing. SIG's hold up well in my experience.
I'd factor in the price of a spring kit as part of the deal. |

I dunno if I'd buy that.
There's a real knowledgeable guy on SIGforum that wrote up how you can tell how many rounds (approx.) have been through a gun based on wear... So long as the gun hasn't been refinished it isn't hard to tell. It looks like this gun's had a few more rounds than the seller stated. Now, I'm sure the gun has a lot of life left in it, but price it accordingly... |
