I carry a 229 in a Bianchi Shadow 7L, pancake holster. I don't think they make the lined version any more, though. If you are inclined to use a pancake holster, you should be able to find other mfg's out there. Personally, I like the models that have the belt slots closer to the grip of the gun. I like the grip to be close in to my side, easier to conceal. IMHO

I switched to a P229 SSE recently and love it. Carry it in Comp-Tac MTAC holster. While it is a bit "chunky" and heavy, it is manageable I love to shoot it.

229 in a comp tac(cant remember which model)

A++

It is chunky but I like the idea of having a full size gun with good capacity

Use a Galco southern comfort IWB here and find it quite comfortable

My P220 has shot so well over the years I just picked a 229 SAS 2 gen with srt. It will be smoother than my USPc 40. Snappy or not I still love the feel of that HK.

My issued weapon is a P229.  It wouldn't be my personal choise, but it is what it is.

Yup...p229 in 40. Cheapo Uncle Mike's inside the pant holster. I have a Bianchi for a spare. Having the extra clip balances my pants. I guess that's the best way to describe it. If I need more than 24 rounds I need a bigger gun.

I have carried a P229R for my CCW , i carry it in a don hume IWB made for a P245, it was the only one my dealer had in stock that fit 229R they had a bunch of others for the 229 non railed version, although my holster is meant for the P245 it works great for me.

229 has 2 holsters #1- Kramer MSP & #2- Fobus. I like the leather alot, but the hard plastic allows for quick movements such as running and jumping. Side note would be that I did get the Kramer MSP when I was 20lbs lighter. So  the moral is get the best quality you can afford and make sure it's fits well. If you do that ,it should be a pleasure to have on and not a nucience to carry. Nothing is worse that a weapon in a loose IWB or pancake flopping around, It's just not fun.

My current holster for the 229 is a Bianchi Minimalist, but I don't like the barrel protruding below the holster because it's obviously a gun if my shirt or coat rises even just a bit too high, whereas if the holster fully covered the barrel, it might be interpreted as a cell phone holster, a knife sheath, or multi-tool sheath. So I'll probably get a Kramer Scabbard in horsehide. Not sure of the difference between the belt scabbard and the vertical scabbard. I'd get it with a forward tilt, in any case. The Bianchi is tan, which stands out against the belt and all but one pair of pants I've got, so I'm getting the Kramer in black. I've got a Kramer IWB holster (this one) and the SIG fits in that fine. But I don't like IWB carry.
