I bring home today my P229 SAS Gen 2 .40, cleaned it up immediately and re lubricte and grease the frame rails well. Had some dry firing practice w/it with A Zoom snap caps, around 30 dry fires. When I'm done with dry firing, I usually just rack the slide to the rear, muzzle facing forward, and let the snap caps fly to the air and catch it with my left hand, I usually do this on a carpeted floor area, so if ever I don't catch it, it won't do any damage damage on the snap caps. I noticed that the dummy bullet just went off about 3-4" high, I tried again, same thing, I inserted another snap caps, same thing, I tied it on my P229 9mm DAK, P226R .40 and X-Five, and the snap caps just fly, turning away high! I fear I'll have a FTE when I take it to the range this weekend. It just does not feel right! Do I have a weak exractor? Any inputs? TIA!:)

Eh, air caught during extraction is dependant upon slide-velocity for the most part with these pistols. Shooting standard pressure and +P (well, you can't do that in .40) will show this. It sure made a difference in my 9mm.

I never had this issues with my HK Expert .40 (sorry) before, they are just blazing away high. Well, let's see how it does with live firing this weekend
