I really am thinking about getting one but have heard less than good things about their reliability..... ....I will eventually get a supressor for it to target practice in my garage, but wouldnt feel very good about spending all that money on something that isnt reliable.  What are your experiences with them and any tips or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks! |

There used to be a good thread but I think I have my settings so that it does not show the older ones, that or it for deleted for some reason. I bought a used P22 in the spring and it runs flawlessly on GOOD ammo. Stay away from federal I use remmington brand and have never hand an issue using subsonics, cyclones, tornados or whatever other kind they have. The general rule stick to good ammo and you will have a good time. I just wish they had bigger compacity mags 10 .22 rounds goes fast. |

Get one and keep it reasonably clean. The only issues I've had with mine after probably 4000 rounds (and I got it used, and dont know how many before me) is the slide stop lever gunks up REALLY fast when I shoot it with my can. This makes it so rather then just pulling back on the slide to close it after inserting a fresh mag, you have to sort of pull back and then push it the last little bit closed. I'de guess this occurs after 100-150 rounds of suppressed fire. As soon as I get it home and pop the receiver out of the frame and clean it up, it works like a charm until it gets gunked up again. |

I have 2 of them and they both work ok with the right ammo. Stay away from the bulk Federal stuff from walmart, it’s garbage. Mine really like the Remington golden bullet, PMC Zapper, and the really hot stuff like CCI Stingers, Aguila Hyper Velocity, and the CCI Velocitor. I haven’t been able to get Remington Yellow Jackets to feed well because of the truncated point gets caught on the feed ramp. I had to polish up the slide and the top of the hammer on one of them because it had a hard time closing all the way, but it’s ok now. I also took out that dumb mag safety on both of them as well.  With good ammo, it’s a blast to shoot. |
I love my AAC pilot. To attach, you need to get a replacement extended front barrel nut. Should run you about $30. Note: DO NOT LOSE THE OLD FRONT BBL NUT. YOU WILL NEED IT TO TAKE DOWN THE GUN TO CLEAN. ITS A HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS IF YOU DONT HAVE IT. Ask me how I know

I should have gone with the two tone. I run a TAC-65 on my P22. The adapter for it was about $30. You just unscrew the factory barrel nut and screw the adapter on. The TAC-65 is a "budget" can. Mine was $225. For my purposes, I think it is exceptionally quiet. There is almost no sound from either my P22 or my 10/22. I hear more noise from the action than anything else. The TAC-65 cans can also be disassembled for cleaning. I don't know if that is a universal feature or not. |

***UPDATE*** Shot it today.....ran like a top with CCI blazers and target, and also the Remington gold. Had just a few light strikes with the Remington subsonics. ALSO: I've already got the Laser and the bbl thread adaptor for the suppressor coming in the mail as we speak. I also purchased a Tac65 suppressor from AZEX and will be sending in the $200 check next week! I CANT WAIT!  I will keep everyone posted with pics on progress. |
| The light strikes on the Remington is the ammo not the gun. Usually when the Remington Subsonic does not go off, it will never go off, no matter how many times you fire it. Pull the bullet powder is good, look at primer and it has burned but somehow not ignited the powder. I got this every time in my AR15 22 conversion. |
| Seriously reading all this makes me less want to get one. I want a dependable gun. yes I clean my gun to where I can eat off it (after taking the lube off it of course) but still. Just scary to see all these minor modifications are done just to make it a champ. Even then it can still crap out so fast.... |

No modifications here.......many/most guns have ammo that they like and ammo that they dont like, I dont know why this is news to you. Are you new here? ETA: Also, this isnt a self defense gun (notice: .22lr) just a plinker to have fun with in the garage. |
