I figure this has been asked before, but my search foo is weak today. I have heard that there are some P22s that wo't accept the thread adapters for suppressors. How can you tell these from the ones that can? I'm interested in picking one up as a plinker. Also the ones that have the muzzle break extension.......... can those accept the thread adapter as well? Thanks a head of time guys. Nox |

as far as i know they all will take them. the adapter replaces the barrell lock nut. my guncame with the 4 and the 5" barrells and they both work fine. if you plan to suppress buy the 4". it balences better and with the can the velocity and accuracy is close to the 5" |
The p22's sold in California, possibly other places, can't accept a can because they don't have any threads. Well, they do have threads. The barrel nut that screws onto the threads normally just doesn't have any slots for the supplied wrench to grab onto. Once the nut is put on at the factory and torqued down, it'd be very difficult to get off with out some work or at least knowing that the threads are even there. The nuts may also be locktited on at the factory, I don't know for sure. The good news is that these type are very rare. I've not heard of them being sold outside of California. All you have to do to make sure you don't get one by chance is to take a look at the barrel nut with the slide retracted. It should have slots in it that fit the small wrench supplied in the parts bag with a new gun. Unscrew it and the threads are right underneath ready for the adapter. Edit: The 5" barrel also has threads. Same deal as with the short barrels- Remove the barrel nut and screw on the adapter. I don't know if the adapter and can will fit with the 'compensator' attached, although the gun will function fine with out it. It will just look goofy. |

Yep, figured that. I just want it short to keep the cheap stuff subsonic. A few friends and myself did some ammo testing with different barrel lengths. Were not done yet as we haven't made the time when the weather was decent lately. Project Shootin' Sunday Linky |
