I hate the slipperiness of plastic frames when they get wet––or when my hands start to sweat, so all of my game guns (and my duty weapon) wear skateboard tape.  This works fine for guns like 2011s, and GLOCKs, as the sides are flat.  When I started shooting a P30, I had a difficult time getting the tape to adhere for more than about 3 weeks at a time of shooting and dry-firing because the grip is so round and contoured.

The most effective coverage I got looks like this:

I finally got fed up with the tape coming off, and switched to this:

46 grit rock tumbling media adhered with 2-part epoxy.  It's more aggressive than it looks (the light colored stuff in the grit is my skin), and I really like it––and it doesn't come off.  Probably not a good idea for a carry gun, though.

Looks nice in the 2nd pic. In the first, is the mag unseated or that an aftermarket extended one?

I had a custom 140mm mag welded up made up from two factory mags for 3-gun. 20+1 in 9mm.

Mountain bike inner tubes cut to size work very well.

Have you considered stippling the side plates as they are easily replaced if you aren't happy with the results? I usually shoot my P30LS with gloves but I've thought about stippling an extra pair of side plates for mine.

The funny thing is most folks online bitch about how rough the grip is. They must not shoot much

Reach down. Grab a handful of dirt. Rub it in your hands.

I have a rock near my computer that gets a constant rubbing. It helps keep a nice thick layer of skin on my hands. That helps, too.

I carry mine IWB with a t-shirt between me and the gun and I haven't had a problem in over a year or daily carry.

When it's +110* out, you only wear a t-shirt outside, so the gun rides directly against you.
