I was at Dugway Proving Ground way back in 2001, and the security force there still had three beautiful, museum-quality M79s in their arms room. That was the first and only time I’ve ever handled one. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they’re still there.

Didn't get the chance to shoot the mk14 (m39 to us) but also means I didn't have to carry it so it equals out.

It’s actually an X-Carry grip module. The X-Full has the full length dust cover.

This is what I'm tracking on DG's pistols:

X Carry frame with springer magwell
full size threaded barrel,
FCU is standard PRO model
PRO slide with RMR rm06
Recoil spring is tuned for their loads
All black

Magwell in the picture looks like the OEM Sig mag funnel.

That’s what I have on mine for comparison.

That pistol would be a P320 XFULL PRO(XCARRY Grip Module/Full Length Slide) with added suppressor height sights, threaded barrel, and flared magwell.

Correct. The Pro model that has the long dust cover has "LDC" in the SKU.

The Romeo 1 Pro is actually pretty nice.  It’s not the most durable but has nice glass.  I had one on my P320-M18 for a bit.  I ended up getting rid of it because there’s no way to have a rear iron sight with it.  I just prefer suppressor height irons on my RDS equipped pistols.  That doesn’t leave many options for the Sig slides that don’t have a rear sight dovetail.  I’ve found the best option are the FCD plates that incorporate a rear sight dovetail.  I have the RMR version on my P320-M17.  I believe they also make an Acro version as well.

Yes, they carry with the safety off.

That’s pretty standard.  I never went through the M18 qual, but during the M9 course/qual we were taught to carry round in the chamber, hammer down, safety off.  The handful of times I was armed with an M9, that was how I did it.

Army- when I started it was in our agency policy to carry the M9 with the safety/decocker on. Only SRT was authorized to carry with it disengaged.

When we transitioned to the M17 and M18 the verbiage was removed altogether.

I carry with the safety On/engaged because my thumb rides on it like a 1911 and I disengage when I "punch out and go to work"  with the exception of firing with thumb pec index during our qual at close range.

Yeah, that’s a 4.7” slide with threaded barrel, not a X-Five. It’s not a bull barrel and the X-Five slide protrudes further than that on a Carry-length rail

Looking through this thread, I must say I don’t believe a single one of these pistols is actually from the military. I was repeatedly reliably informed that the modularity of the P320 was a marketing gimmick and that it would never be utilized by a single branch of the armed forces.

J’accuse!

The funny thing is that spoke with a guy who carried the M203 on troop trials at JFKSWS and recommended against it for general issue vs. the M79.

@laxman09

I would say $800-850 would be buy it now price when you consider that Sportsmans Warehouse sells the M18 by itself for $650. And that $850 is IF you are wanting the optic it comes with.

Personally prefer the RMR myself though.

I believe SIG is going to offer the commercial M17 with the military pattern slide so that it’s compatible with the ROMEO-M17. I posted here about the report that they’re going to sell the military slides separately with and without the optic.

I shamelessly bummed it off of what you posted. It felt right being added in here.

Speaking of bumming, I started following the Danish Military page along with the Australian page to see any photos that pop up with their versions of the 320.

The civilian models will be available moving forward so i wouldn’t worry about them drying up or anything. LEO/ MIL pricing is in the $550 range and POWs are $650-ish.
So considering it has the R1P i agree with the $800ish price.

The slide cuts are the same, the commercial version of the M17/M18 lack the hole under the rear iron sight which is what the military version has.
