Anyone had a P45 cut down to take PM45 mags?  Pics?  Thinking of having it done.

I thought about it for a while.  But then I tripped over a PM-45 NIB for $569, and snagged it.  The slightly longer barrel and single spring recoil system of the P-45 both have virtues, however.

But keep in mind that Kahr could then not warranty any part of your frame, and maybe even the whole pistol.  Also, resale pretty much drops to zero.  Once you cut, it's yours.

I did it myself for my CW9, and I couldn't be happier.
The smaller grip is ideal for IWB carry, but the longer barrel just shoots better, in
my opinion.

I used a hacksaw, and took my time.

I wanted exactly that from a P-45.  Very nice job.  You are a braver man than I with a hacksaw.

Bizzactly!  Don't know if I have the stones to try it myself though.

Thanks guys.

I bought a PM9 mag and measured the difference between the distance from the bottom of the mag catch hole, and the top edge of the bottom of the mag, on the two guns. (If that makes sense. )

Then I wrapped the grip in masking tape and marked the cutting line.
It was a case of "measure six times, cut once".
I used a hacksaw, because I've let my Dremel tool get me in trouble before.
Took my time, and stopped often.
I made sure to cut the grip about 1/8" too long, then used a sanding block to trim the grip until the PM9 mag
locked in place.
Then I used a file to bevel the opening to match the piece I removed.

But, if there had been somebody local who would have done the job for $50 or so, I'd gladly have let them do it.

Trust me, I was tense until I finished.
