I went by a local shop the other day and saw a P7M8 for sale.  It was brand new and in a wooden HK display box.  Is HK still making the P7?  I did some internet research and got mixed answers about it.  What would one like that be worth?  I don't remember what they were selling it for but I think it was somewhere around $900.

You need to tell me where this gunshop is right away so I can go there immediately and correct their obvious pricing error.

If it's a Jubilee or commemorative model there should be a 1 in front of that 9.  Even if it's a standard P7M8, that's a Very Good price.

Check the right side of the slide; some German police surplus P7M8's were once imported, and the police marking was milled off of the slide.  $900 for one of those is about right.

If you want LOTS of good info on P7's go to www.parkcitiestactical.com P7 forum.

I'm going to swing by there thursday or friday and get some more info.  I don't think its a German police surplus.  It looked as though it had never been fired.  The wooden box mades me think that its a commemorative model.  I've been looking for others online but haven't been able to find one.  It was several weeks ago when i saw it originally and from what I remember it was a wood grain box, unlike the black wooden boxes I've seen in pictures for the commemoratives.

EDIT:  Well apparently my memory isn't as good as I thought it was.  I made a phone call and found out that it is German police surplus that was refurbished as the factory and the box is plastic.

Wait until the other parts start going too...................

The P7M8 Anniversary Edition was selling for around $1700-1800 when it came out, IIRC? This is the wooden box edition you were thinking it was, IMO.

H&K has said for the last 2-3 years they'd make no more P7M8's & then there's a small trickle of them that gets imported. But it's safe to say that they're pretty much finished.

Nothing wrong with the German po-po surplus models. *I* have one & it looked like it had NEVER been fired! $600!

If you do jump, I urge you to go ahead & also get 4-5 extra/spare mags for down the road use. No, they're not cheap. But think what you'll say if you can't find a mag 10 years from now...............
