A pic of my older Custom Compact, disregard the 22/45. The Kimber catalog showed these the year I got it with black grips. This one came as pictured with a much lower serial number than the other 2 that I viewed at the time of purchase.

Tried her out today. Smooth as silk! Can't believe I waited this long to buy one.

I like the little extra weight it has over the Glock. Seems to be more accurate because of it.

How do you like that RCP?  What does it weigh? Fill us in!

I absolutely love the RCP. It weighs in at 26 ounces if I remember correctly. The sighting trench takes a little getting used to, but works just fine at the ranges this pistol is made for. Putting all the shots in the 10 ring at 7-10 yards is not difficult once you understand how it shoots. It does nip a little bit, but not terribly. For daily carry I barely notice it’s there.
My first range trip with it, I wanted to be confident of its reliability as well as figure out what I needed to do to shoot it well. 300 rounds without a problem first time out, and a couple thousand since without a hiccup. Although now I only put about 100-150 through it at a time (the 300 round trip had left a bloody raw spot on my hand).

As a matter of fact, it does. The one Gemtech had at the SHOT show, right next to the Kimber booth, was just awesome. Its on my "list".

Here's the slightly shorter version

The first one's actually been converted to a gas gun (fixed barrel, lowered firing pin, gas retarded)

On the one above I took a Kimber Compact replaced the slide with a Wilson Combat ss Commander length slide (needed the bushing) and then took a full length Ed Brown ss Match Bull Barrel and turned it down on a lathe and threaded it for the AAC suppressor (at that time no one offered a short threaded barrel for a 1911
