Thanks for all the help. I got the sights I needed.
OK heres my dilemma.

I have a griffon 1911a1

Sights have been lost by my former smith. He took them off to drill out the old bulbs and replace. However he was unable to find new ones and now they are MIA.

So I have a slide with dual dovetails that I believe are 330*65's. Why I think this is because I have gotten feedback from a former seller of these and that is what he recalled them being. Dont know for sure.

I have made wax moldes of them and they appear to be the same. (in other words the molds were slid out of both dove tails with the same results.

Now for my dilemma. I need sights. I do not want night sights again. I want normal sights.

Is there some one local or near local that can take a look at the slide and compare with other sights or cuts to help me determine what exactly they are or are not.

If anyone has take off sights laying around can we work out a deal so I can see if they will fit this thing? I just need to know what to get so I dont waste more time and money on what was to be a budget blaster.

I am in the okc area, but dont have any sights laying around. Maybe send them out to Heinie or someone for a set of Slant Pros?

I think you should take the pistol to the gunsmiths at Outdoor America or H&H and have they look at.  You never know they might have some extra sights laying around that customer didnot want after change their sight to night sight. Just a thought.  Good luck.

Gryphon, griffin or griffon....
you have my deepest sympathies.

In OKC there is an EXCELLENT smiff! Look in your yellow pages for Dr. Barry Greyson DDS.
He'll fix both your teefs and gats.

Tim I was over at H&H earlier today. I pissed off the guy behind the counter when I had to correct him on the sight dimensions that would work. He was about as useful as the tits on a boar.(Gunsmith I figure as he was manning the rear and everyone was going to him for answers) That guy didnt want to sell me shit. Hell he even had the nerve to ask me what I said in a confrontational tone when I stated that I guess I would just have to order them. I dont think I will be going back there. I can live without gun shop drama like that. Outdoor America may work I will take it by tomorrow and see what they can tell me. I will post back here with any results.

I am not really looking for the old style sights. I would like somthing more modern than the yost sight SGB provided as a link.

Thanks for the help guys.

Chucks you have IM

I am sorry about your experience at H&H, people that work at a gun store sometime think they know everything.  JK is the name of the gunsmith at Outdoor America is very helpful to me, he helped me to fix a couple of my 1911.

Outdoor America is closed today, So I went back to H&H. The other smith was gone thankfully. The guy that was there was first class.

My dove tails are 330*65 Both of them. So a Novak cut front works and std colt / gi cut rear will be fine. Now to find some.

Will be calling novak tomorrow.
