| Just bought mine last night! Heading out to the range at noon to run her in. She's all clean and lubed, ready to go. I bought 50 rounds of S&B ball plinking ammo to start it on, then my buddy has some WWB and some ranger sxt's to try as well. Hopefully I can get through all 200 break in rounds today. Need to order a holster for it too, probably going with something from Crossbreed. I'll see how it handles, I'm tempted to stiple the grip, I really liked how it turned out on my XD. |
| The one issue I am having with it is that the sights are set up to aim low. When the target is out at 15 yards and I was aiming center mass, I was barely hitting the bottom of the paper. I'm planning on upgrading the sights soon as is though. Has anyone had this problem? |

Exactly opposite of my HKs I tossed a level on the slide last night and the sights do appear to be off a bit. Not too worried. I'm upgrading the sights quasi soon anyway and if I actually have to use it in self defense, chances are it will be close and fast enough that a proper aim isn't doable. |

It's not the sights, buy some snap caps and throw half dozen in with about 30 live rounds and let someone load your magaziners for you, not knowing if you have zero, one or 4 snap caps in the gun. You will see first hand then what is going on. Kahr sights theire guns in at 15 yards with 124 grain ammo. ... You need more rounds down range to get accustomed to kahrs looooong trigger system and your groups will come back where they belong. Not sure what kind of sights your gonna buy that will make you think it will bring your shots back up either. They are not cheapo sights on kahrs at all, and if you have read this forum much, you willalso know tha tto get those factory sights off of your gun, is going to be a real bitch to do. Without a good sight pusher, I doubt if you willbe able tomove those sights off the gun. Don't compare IMO how one brand of guns shoots to another. Some people choose to cover the target , some choose to put the target right above the front sight (on top of it). again shooter preference and also what ever it takes for one to shoot it where he wants to. Personally you just need to shoot this gun alot more and give it and you time to mate up better to.. PS. toss that level, your guessing now.... |

I agree with the above poster 100%. More ammo, more trigger time. |

I'm not arguing that it most likely is the Indian and not the arrow... and I'll be the last to say more rounds down range won't hurt anything. I've had a few others shoot it as well and they thought the same thing about the sights, one of them being a cop with 8 years experience who has shot MUCH more than I. Hopefully you are right, and it just take some getting used to. I was focusing on my sight picture since the pull is quite long, so the thought wasn't out of my head. As for the sights themselves, I was thinking about the big dot or some trijicons, and yes I know from reading they appear to be a bitch to remove. I was planning on having a gunsmith do the work. |

I love mine shot it for the first time today. Put 200 rounds today... one or too failures to feed early on but I think it was running tight until the rounds broke it in. The extended mag seems to be a bit tight in the magwell... I need to hit the edges of the bottom of the magwell with some fine sandpaper to take the burrs off the plastic. |

You have made an excellent choice with the PM9.
I have carried mine for a few years now and I can't say enough good things about this pistol. Reliable, accurate considering the size and it has the smoothest trigger pull I have ever felt. I wish all of my DAO pistols had that smooth a trigger. |

Put another 100 rounds through it w/o any issues. Worked on the sight picture a bit more and my groups are improving... guess I'll just have to keep shooting it. u are solving your own issues by more rounds and actually getting to know the gun better to. to me allguns wil lshoot or handle differently. I still recommend the snap cap thing as it will really show up shooting errors to. Unless that cop has shot a kahr much, I would not base alot of what he says either. Kahrs are just not that easy of a gun to shoot . Just keep what your doing and I do think you will be OK, just IMO resolve to the fact that you proabably willnot shoot that kahr in the same hole. I can tell you I shoot 100 rounds yesterday in the snow in my state and at 7 yards I am very accurate, at 5 yards I am extremely accurte, but at 15 I am terrible. So if the gun with me behind it can do great at 7 yards and then a big change at 15, then I know it is not the gun. It doesn't not bother me either. I love to shoot my PM9 and actually do little practicing at 15 yards. Most shootings are under 7 yards so why not get proficient at that distance. Quite a few years ago a study was done on the NYPD and most shootings were under 6 feet and the majority of the officers missed at that distance. Hard to believe I know but when the blood is running full steam and your heart is now on the bottom of your foot beating away and you brain is running full speed, things just don't go as planned either. accuracy goes right to hell. I had a 25 year veteran state cop who was on the state shooting team tell me many years ago, to practice close, no bullseye, man size silhouette, get fast at point shooting, empty the gun in a shoot out and for sure carry 24/7 "legally".. |
Things are getting better for sure. I need to try the snap cap thing, but I'll probably wait until I get a few hundred more rounds through it. I know I'm flinching some, I don't need a snap cap to prove that to me.
I've got some good drills in mind for when it warms up a bit and I can use a different range. The range I go to is indoors and does not allow anything other than slow fire. I hear ya on the adrenaline issue... I've done 2 MMA fights and if it wasn't for the video, I wouldn't remember a damn second of em! Game plans go out the window when your mind is racing like that! |
