Hey guys, got an issue with a new PM9.  Guy brought it to the range yesterday to break it in. Literally new out of the box.  I noticed the barrel, barrel hood, and slide rails were bone dry.  So I suggested to him that it be stripped and lubed prior to firing it.  Then the problem arose.  After removing the slide release, the slide would not come off.  Pulling the trigger caused no effect, it would not trip the sear.  It was as if the slide were locked open and you pulled the trigger, has that lack of resistance feeling to it.  So I disassembled the back end of the slide to remove the firing pin in order to get the slide off.  Noticed the trigger bar, where it rides in the slide cutout, appeared to be shaved a bit and had a noticeable ledge on it.  Sorry I do not have pics to explain.  After putting the slide back on and installing the slide release, I kept tension on the firing pin spring with my thumb and worked the action.  Everything worked normally, so I reinstalled the slide cover plate, and again, no tension on the trigger.  It's as if the trigger is not resetting.  One more time removing the cover plate to inspect the workings, this time using a pick to put pressure on the firing pin, and it was, in fact, not resetting the trigger.
Brand new PM9 not resetting the trigger when the slide cycles.  Anyone have ideas what would cause this.  I dismantled my K40 right next to it for operational comparison, and all internals operate identically, except for his not resetting the trigger.

Mine wouldn't reset the trigger out of the box either.  It's part of the break in, I guess.  Because 200 rounds later it was perfect.  Prior to working perfect I would have to kind of slingshot the trigger after pulling back.  The trigger had to spring forward with force in order to reset.  Now it resets about 1/8" before the trigger stops moving forward.

So if at all possible, I'd just oil it in the important spots without disassembling it, put some 200 rounds through it, and see what happens.  Avoid sending it back to Kahr.  It took 2 1/2 months to get mine back from them.

Yea I've read your extravaganza about it.  He's gonna take it to the shop he bought it at, they're actually pretty good at taking care of things without having to send em back.  But we tried even pushing the trigger forward and it still wouldn't catch.....
