I'm buying a used PMR-30 at the end of the week, and it has both the old and the new barrel. The owner said he's never experienced the keyholing issue, but went ahead and requested and received a new barrel, anyway.
My question is this: At what shooting distance does the keyholing typically become evident? I'm really looking forward to having and shooting this gun. I'm hoping the old barrel never had the keyholing issue, and that I can just keep the new one as a spare. Please let me know if there are any other issues for which I should be looking. I don't think the round count is very high on this one. Maybe 500 or so. |

Hi,Have only run a few rounds thru mine, shoots great. Caution, just because it's a 22 wear hearing protection. It's louder than my 45, with the recommended ammo. Have fun Beware of zombies dressed in flags I'm hearing they shoot a pretty nice fireball, too. I'm picking one up tomorrow night. |

I fired my PMR yesterday. Wow! This thing is fun. I only shot 2 full mags, but it cycled flawlessly, incluidng 30 rounds of Fiocchi hollow point. It recommends against Fiocchi ammo to avoid fte's or ftf's. (I ran the Fiocchi because it was mostly all I had.)
I think I'm going to love this gun! Is anyone even here? I'm hearing cricketts. |

Have fun Beware of zombies dressed in flags You were right about how loud this thing is. Between the loudness of the gun and a new steel shelter over our shooting range, it nearly overwhelmed my electronic ear muffs. I was also surprised at how light the trigger pull is on tis thing. I've got some sighting-in to do, though. It shoots pretty wide left. |

I'm loving mine, the fireball this thing throws is impressive! Loud is a bit of an understatement, mine is every bit as loud as my daughter's SP2022 9mm. I can't wait until the threaded barrel for this puppy hits the KT web site.
So far, mine has fed and fired every ammo type I've fed it. The list: Winchester, Armscor, Fiocchi, BVAC, Federal, & CCI Maxi-Mag, all 40 gr. Not being in love with fiber optic sights, I put a Burris Fastfire II red dot on it using the mount from the KT web site and will be going this week to zero it at the range. At 19 ounces, fully loaded, it feels like a toy, but it makes a mess like a real handgun, without question! |

This might becme my favorite gun. Let me know how you like it with the Burris Fastfire. I'm thinking of going with that setup, too.

| One dealer close to me told me they sell them for just over 300 bucks. They said they don't last through the afternoon when they receive them, though. Some guys stand around and wait for the UPS truck. I bought mine used for 400 bucks. It cam with a new barrel, four magazines, a holster, and 950 rounds of ammo. |
| I've got a brand new one, just picked it up last week. Shot it on Saturday, and experienced about 4-5 keyholes out of about 50 rounds. I was shooting Remington 40 gr. round nose, and some Hornady V-Max 30gr. I wasn't really shooting for accuracy, just shooting a piece of OSB about 50 yards away. I'll probably go shoot again on Saturday, this time on paper and closer. It's supposed to have the new barrel (W3xxx serial), so I'm somewhat bummed I had a few keyholes. Might just have to try out several different rounds until I find one she likes. |

Is the barrel fluted or round with a flare at the end? If the latter, it's the new barrel.
What ammo was keyholing on you? Kel-Tec has reported that some of the 40 grain CCI Maxi-Mags will still do this, why, I don't know. Mine has never keyholed on me with any of the loads I've tried, so far. I have been running a lot of Armscor and BVAC (cheap ammo from CTD) through mine, along with some Federal, all 40 grain loads. |
| I saw one of these today at my local fun store. It took everything i had NOT to buy it! I'm not one of those people that believes you have to have the biggest caliber possible in a hand gun. i think I'd ratherr have 30 rds of .22WMR Then the 12rds of 9mm in my M&P 9c. I'd be willing to bet that i could fire off rounds quicker with the PMR then I can my M&P, staying on target that is. Dan, how you liking your PMR? |

The trigger is very light, and I'm having to get used to that. You can pop off 30 rounds so fast, you wouldn't believe it. There's a nice fireball, too. I'm running the new barrel, after swapping the old one out. The standard sights were not adjusted correctly, so I'm wondering if the new barrel had anything to do with that. I just put a Primary Arms green dot micro sight on it, and that's pretty cool, but I've not been able to dial it in as tight as I'd like. It is fine at about 10 yards, but I'd like to have some consistency at 25 yards. I'm not sure if the sight holds zero well or not yet. I might throw it on an accurate .22 rifle to see how it does, and then put it back on the PMR. One of my favorite things about the PMR is its light weight. I can't get over how light it is, even with a full mag. It is a really neat little gun. If I can get some accuracy out of it, it will be a keeper. If not, I'll trade it for something else down the road. I hope I can get it dialed-in. I've read from most folks that they are pretty accurate, so I'm optimistic at this point. |

Kinda funny, i ran back up to the LGS around 4:45 and it was sold! They are gonna try and get another one but he said it could be awhile. He had two his morning and sold both today. Hot little gun, I'm gonna have to get one for myself and see what all the fuss is about. |
| Same here, I've been asking around and only one has gotten one in and sold it within two days. I did see one at a local gun show recently but asking price was $550! Don't mind paying a little over MSRP for something scarce but he was too far from what I was willing to pay. |
| Friend got one at a local show for $365 out the door. Im pissed they didn't have 2 for sale. A lot lighter than I thought it would be, but still feels good and actually looks pretty damn cool as well. We got it probably 15 minutes after the doors opened. Any longer and I'm sure it would have been gone. |

I've had my PMR-30 since march of 2011, still amazed at its accuracy , light weight and I love the trigger pull. Last summer I was siteing in my ar at 80 yards. For the fun of it I tried the PMR, low and behold I was hitting paper very wel actually. With two mags = 60 rnds how much more can you ask for. I've found 30 grn CCI , Remington, Winchester works best. Stay away from the dyno points to dirty. Also the manuel says lightly oil, follow the instructions. |
