Guys, as I have mentioned before, I got a PPK/S .380 last November and have loved the gun. The only hiccup I have had up until this point was on a few occasions when I went to chamber a round, it would not, and to remedy it I had to drop the mag and rack the slide. Never had a failure to fire or eject and it is very accurate. Fast forward to yesterday. On 3 or 4 occasions on, say..., the 3rd, 4th, or 5th shot it seemed like the trigger would not reset. The previous shell would go boom with no problems and be ejected, but the trigger for the next shot would not "engage". It just pulled back with little effort and nothing. I would rack the slide which ejected the unfired round and I could finish shooting the remainder of the magazine without incident. Has anyone else had similar problems? S&W quickly said they'd send me a shipping label and check it out, but first I'd like some feedback by peers with experience. Thanks for any information. Blake |

I'd take them up on that shipping label. Life is too short to dick around with a dysfunctional pistol. I bought a new S&W PPK/S and probably should have sent it in, but was completely discouraged and decided I didn't want any parts of it and traded it (SIG 232). My experience was a lack of feeding, too, usually on the first round but, like you, sometimes on subsequent rounds as well. If you like the gun that much, let S&W try to get it straightened out. |
