Hello Everyone.

I have a PPX 40 that I basically got for about $15 in gas that it took to pick up.

My problem is that the owner did not care for it, maybe because he knew he would be giving it to me to pay for a bit of i.t. work.

There appears to be fine sand throughout the slide and possibly in the frame works.

It needs a complete strip and clean.

However, this seems to be the one gun on youtube that I can find absolutely nothing on except the very basic field strip.

Does anyone have or found a guide for a detail disassembly/reassembly ? preferably video

If it were me I'd drop the slide off, degrease it and use compressed air to blow it clean. Unless you absolutely need to take it completely apart.

It needs it.

There has to be sand in firing pin/pin block/etc area and in areas of the frame that air just wont blow.

Powerful air compressor might do the trick for the frame, but I don't have one and can't get one now.

Has no one found anything?

Try looking over at waltherforums or start a thread there if you can't find any info?

Did that first.

No help so far, so thought I would try here too

Is there a local gunsmith that does the $25 ultrasonic bath thing?

Called walther in AR to see if they found a clean and checkout?

I've seen the exploded diagram and it's definitely "German engineered" if you know what I mean.

Start taking it apart and video or photo yourself as you do it.  You can't mess it up that bad, especially for a free gun.  Will give you good practice and you can pat yourself on the back for being able to tear it apart.

Boot.
