My carry piece is a PT145, and I keep it loaded with 200 grain Speer Gold Dots. I have had no issues with it firing or accuracy. But if load the magazine full (ten rounds) the first three will not feed. But the following seven feed without issue. Until I find a remedy I currently carry 7 GDs in the magazine topped with 3 FMJ on top. the sharper profile of the FMJ allow them to feed without problem, and when it gets to the GD they feed fine. I know I could only carry 7 GD's and feed fine, but id rather have a full magazine. Has anyone else had this issue. Or can you recommend a personal defense round that has a sharper profile that would feed better?

my pt145 came with one magazine that wouldn't feed until i opened up the lips. the other would only eat FMJ rounds.
i sent them both back to taurus and haven't had any problems as of yet. that took a bit of time. my pt1911ar came with a dud, too. probably a bad magazine on their part. |

Sounds like the rounds are jamming on the lower part of the mag. If it feeds with seven and not 10.....
have you tried like reg 45ammo 180 gr FMJ ??? and if you did,,, is it the same issue???? I have noticed that the PT 's mags are are tight at full load this is because they are trying to get max round count in small space, good luck |

Have you taken your mag apart and cleaned it? I have only had one problem with my 145 and it was because it was dirty as heck when I got it. I cleaned everything I could get to with Gunzilla and it has been silk ever since! I also poured a little gunzilla into the parts I couldn't get to and blew it out with an air compressor. I love it now!
