After around 4000 rounds my Taurus PT 99 AF 9mm broke. The adjustable rear site broke in half during shooting and went flying; I could not find the half that went flying. The part that broke in half was the actual sight with the 2 dots. Can I buy a replacement rear sight? Can I put it on myself? |
| You can buy a Millett sight from Brownell's, but personally, I'd send it back to Taurus and let the ol' lifetime warranty do its wonders. |
Thank You! That was easy; I went to the Taurus web site found the phone number then gave them a call. They told me to pull the rear sight, send it to them and they would send a replacement free of charge. I bought this one new in 1989 and they still covered it, got to love lifetime warranties. |

They do a full inspection process on your gun, so even if you write that your rear sight is messed up, they'll still check the rest of it. It's not uncommon for guns to come back with more things fixed than the owner new was broken. Their warranty is top notch. Ross |
| Wow, That's nice to here. I bought my PT99 New in 86 or 87. But I have never had a problem with it. I must admit that I"m not fond of the rear sight on it. and I've wondered in the past if I could buy a new rear sight. Other than Brownell's, is there anyone else out there that makes a rear sight for a PT 99? |
