So I've already posted a question about the Desert Eagle 1911 and I'm finding more and more deals on different brands, I really like a citadel on buds ands its a 100 bucks cheaper then a lot of the ones I'm finding, but I found a good one for a Para ordnance expert, now I know armscor produces citadel which pretty much makes it like a RIA right? I'm new to 1911's and want to make sure I research enough before buying, how is Para, are they a good reliable gun should I take the citadel over it, I don't want to look at Springfield's or colts because id like to not be gun poor after, but I also don't want a POS, I'm looking for about 650 and under because I want to get a couple 10 rd mags and possibly a new grip if I don't like the one on there, I know "you get what you pay for " but nowadays there has to be loop holes for some stuff

The Citadel's are a decent budget 1911 you can pick up for pretty darn cheap if you poke around the used market.

I think you can find a Ruger SR1911 or even a Remington R1 for your price range and I feel like they are a lot more bang for the buck fit and finish wise than the Para's or even for what a lot of the Citadel/Armscor/ RIA guns are selliing for.

I use to have a stainless para expert. It was very reliable and accurate. The one issue it had was it shot 3 inches low at 10 yards. I sent the gun back to para usa and they said they replaced the front sight, they didn't. It still shot low so I put a dawson front sight on it. Back when I bought the gun they were dirt cheap too. With a $100 rebate I paid $400.

I would avoid para.

But I did put $2k into a p-14 and it still wouldn't fire a full mag without malfunctioning

I do not.

RIA gets a thumbs up from a lot of people on here for a low cost entry level 1911.

There is never a good reason to buy a Para singlestack IMO.

There are much better cheaper options (RIA, etc.) and much better guns at or above the Para pricepoint (Ruger, SA, etc.)

If you're looking for a good running gun at a low price point Citadel and RIA make a more than decent, but not very refined,  1911.

thank you all for your input I think I will end up going with the citadel, I know its not as refined as others but for the price  and having the accessories i want I cant pass it up
