My FIL is looking to get rid of his G19 this week as he is not into it anymore and wants something a little smaller.
I have an XDm 40  I received in a trade a few months back and I was thinking of trading him.
I got the 40 since I wanted to get multiple calibers covered in case times got really bad I wouldn't be stuck with only 9mm.
I have 9mm covered right now with a Kahr P9 and my CZ75.
I have never really been a Glock fan but it seems as if it would be a good gun to have for long term.

Any thoughts?

The 19 feels a bit small in my ham size hands but my friends like theirs.
I have autos in 380 9mm, 40s&w and 45acp.
I'd like to get down to 2 calibers with the resulting cash from the sales going to increase ammo supply.
I'm leaning toward 9mm and 40s&w as they seem to be readily available.

If you're looking to consolidate to all 9mm then go for it. If you still want to have multiple calibers then keep the xd or trade or for a different .40.

This is where I am at with this.
I might just buy the G19 from him so I don't lose a thing....

I would only trade if the G19 was a Gen4.  The grip angle is better for me when shooting.

BTW get a G23 Gen 4 and get a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel. That way you have the 9mm and a 40 in the same gun.

I did that and added a 357 Sig barrel and Advantage Arms 22 Conversion kit.

Buy the G19. Realize it may not be the most exciting handgun you own, but appreciate it's value as a tool and you'll be happy.

The last two replies seem to be the best possibilities to me at this time.
I will kick it around some more today and make a decision.

Thank you

Glock is a better gun.

Going from Springfield to Glock will always be an upgrade.
