So I'm rocking and rolling with my Glock, installing the new ZEV trigger kit. I reassembled my lower, and noticed that there seems to be a bit of spring tension on the trigger as it lies. I don't remember ever holding a Glock that had rearward tension on the trigger before. I conducted some tests where I isolated the trigger safety by holding the actual trigger in place and tripping the trigger safety, and sure enough SNAP! The trigger activated as soon as I disengaged the trigger safety from the frame. It also isn't re-setting every time I cycle the slide. So now in effect, I have a hair trigger on my G19 (which is kinda cool for shooting at the range.... not gonna lie) that may or may not reset. A hair trigger that is activated by the safety & internal sping tension of the gun, and not my finger's actual rear-ward pressure on the trigger.... which to be honest, kinda scares the crap out of me as this is a carry gun and not a straight racing gun.
I'll be keeping the ZEV connector and firing pin springs since those are really the parts that matter most anyway Any thoughts before I yank out the ZEV spring and throw an OEM Glock spring back in? Did I do something wrong with this spring? Or is this just how the light trigger works? |
