I've been looking for pre-B CZ-75s,  specifically the ones with the shorter rails. I've only come across one for sale once and of course I didn't act fast enough to get it. Are there any goods places to look for the older models? Also, does anyone have an idea of the market price for one of them? Thanks

good luck.  youve seen 1 more than i have.

the only thing you can do is to keep looking.  If you see one of the short rail units, jump on it! also ive never seen any value info in any of my references.

up here they are $1000s of dollars, usually almost  $3000, and you have to watch to make sure someone did not shorten a normal Pre B to scam

they sure are nice though

I will take any pre B over a B any day of the week, with the exception of the SP01 maybe

Clearwater Gun & Loan (208)-777-2467 in Post Falls ID has a early Bauska Kalispel MT  import early type pre B for less than $ 400. Really good deal if you can live with the gawdy import mark, these ones usuall sell in the $550-600 range. They also had a like new 85B for $ 349-369 ? This was like a week ago..They may be gone by now...

Bauska thread with pics

I wouldn't pay more than $ 400 for a run of the mill Pre B CZ-75 as they generally sell for less than that, Picked up a non import marked GI bring back for < 350 and a 2004 retro 75 also for less than < 350. Probably passed on three or four other Pre B's in the last three years none was priced greater than $400.

I used to own a short rail.  I wound up trading it to a member of the CZ shooting team.  If you want it just to collect, it is fine.  If you are going to shoot it, get the second generation.  It is a much better gun.
