I have been wanting a P22 for a while now, and I was wondering what a fair price would be Walther P22 , with a green frame, in both the standard length 3.4" barrel and a 5" barrel.  My local gunshop has a few of them in stock, both the standard and the longer barrel models, all of them with the green frame/black slide (military  model I think).  His prices are known to be a little steep, and usually will go quite a bit lower on the price.

Right now I am prefering the longer barrel version.  Just curious as to the average prices for both types.

Thanks

I just got the Black/ Green in 3.4" for $268 including tax fram a dealer at a gun show. IIRC the 5 inch was slighly more (maybe above $300 after tax).

I asked a local FFL and a local gun shop for prices, and they are both about the same here - about $350-$369 for the 5 inch OD green model.

I think I can talk the local gun shop down a bit, maybe down to $320 or so.  He has two 5 inch models and one 3.4 inch model in stock, all of them OD green.

Cant wait to try it out, at least when I go shooting with friends I will have something other than a ruger 22/45, like all of my frends own

When all your friends own the same gun, that might be an indicator of what is the gun to buy, or were you one of the guys in High School that had to drive a lotus? just to be different.

Don't expect to shoot with the P22 anywhere near the groups the Rugers will shoot.  The Walther P22 is just a medium sized fun plinker, no way any type of target pistol.

I just dont want a ruger.  Not saying that they are bad, I just dont want one.  I am not buying it for a target pistol anyways, so that is completely irrelevant.

I neglected to ask if the p22's that are in stock at the local gun shop for $369.99 have both barrels or not, hopefully so.  I figure on thursday or so I will go pick one of them up.

YOUR P22???

MY P22 is a blast to shoot.  But, I don't shoot for accuracy.  You definitely won't be disappointed with buying one though.

If you don't want a Ruger (I don't like the MkIII's and have been trying to buy as many MkII's as I can), get a Buckmark.  Mine is phenomenally accurate.

Nah, still gonna go with the walther.  If I ever want a target 22 pistol, I will without a doubt get a ruger of some kind.
