I've been wanting a nice 1911 since I sold mine last fall.
Is $625+tax a good deal for a Pro Carry? It shows wear (which is a non-issue for me) and seems to be fine otherwise.
Anything specific I should look at first? From what I've read, the Series I is better (or at least as good as, I'm not trying to stir the pot here) b/c of the firing pin safety.

Here? It's average based on condition. I would need to live in GA to tell you anything of value because prices vary regionally. So, your pool of informed individuals is smaller than you may think.

I can say I don't buy S2 Kimbers any more. I have a S1 Kimber Compact I really like. IMO, the overall fit and craftmanship of the S1 is better overall than the new producion Kimbers. I've not been wowed by Kimber's base S2 line since about the time they went back to the internal extractor. And, I think the upper end line is overpriced. For me, the Kimber is a $700 gun. More than that, and I'm getting something different.
