I have a feeding problem with a G30, thought I'd see if the Glockophiles here could help. |
|
I loaded up some 200 grain Hornady jacketed SWC's @1.267 COL over 5.0 grains of Titegroup for my G-30.
They feed fine, but they don't extract unless the magazine is empty. Awesome accuracy at 25 yards. I'm going to bump up the load a little and see if it helps. |

I could see where the longer COL helps feeding but the extraction? I'd bump that load up, I usually run TG for that bullet at 5.2 or 5.3grs, also with your extreme COL I'd think pressures are very low. Actually, are you sure those bullets aren't engaging the rifling at that length? I'm tempted to try an XD45compact out to see if it can handle SWC's. I'd also be able to shoot lead through it, which would be a bonus. If it's not any better I could always sell it for hardly a loss. |

I used to run that load at 1.275 COL in my H&K USP .45. The Hornady JSWC has a long nose, so I don't think it's hitting the rifling.
I agree my pressures must be very low. I get a smoke streak down one side, no case expansion and no primer indicators at all. brass would not go over my head, most hit me in the chest (had to single load them). I'm loading some tonight with 5.3 grains Titegroup. Try a longer COL, they still feel 'chunky' when you cycle them, but I've never had a fail-to-feed with that Hornady bullet in an H&K or a Glock. They are so accurate that I'm willing to make them work. |
