While switching out the stock connector for a 3.5# type, I decided to go ahead and install an extended slide stop. The only problem is that the spring does not want to stay under the pin. It seems like its too short. After a couple light pulls on the stop, the spring works its way past the pin and then there is basically no tension on the stop at all. If I put the factory one back in, the tip of the spring sticks out further from the pin than the replacement and it stays in place during functional checks. The new one is a Glock part. Has anyone else had this issue? I have a 3rd Gen G-23 if that matters.

Thanks
Gary

I think you may have a part for an earlier 2 pin Glock. Just a guess. Otherwise i would say the spring is either bent or deformed or out of spec.

Had the exact same problem with my G17.....it was a bent spring.

Thanks for the responses. Even if the spring were to hug the rounded part of the stop as it bends around, I think it would be too short. It looks like that spring isn't meant to be removed so I could switch it for my factory one so my only remedy is to exchange it.

I do remember telling the guy I needed one for a Gen3 when I bought it so I'm a bit curious about the Gen2 idea. I'll do a little more research in the meantime.
