Has anyone else had issues with their XD40 Sub-Compact? I can’t get through a box of ammo without it jamming a few times and i'm not limp wristing it. It’s not an ejection problem because I believe it’s always an unfired round that gets caught up. I’m thinking it’s a bad mag, I only have one 9 rounder that came with the pistol. It might also still be in the break-in period because I’ve probably only fired maybe 150rds through it. To me it seems like the recoil spring is way too heavy but that’s just me. I’m sure it will go away with some new mags and more rounds but I thought i’d ask to see if anyone had the same issues.

Did you buy your pistol used?  They are supposed to come with 2 mags, you should have your 9 rnd mag and a 12 round mag.  I would try another mag, and be sure to get a different type of ammo just to compare,  My friends xd 40 sub-com jammed once or twice early on due to crappy ammo, but never due to fault of the gun itself.

However, if something is wrong with the gun, send it in and get it fixed.

+1,

Did you buy it used. It should have come new with a full size mag and the compact mag for concealed carry. That is not normal for the XD line. No break in period for mine. Sub and service size ran never having a hiccup. Try another mag- if that doesn't do it- send it to springfield for repair. An xd not running is out of the norm for that pistol line...

Good luck

I bought it brand new and yes it came with the extra mag that I sold. The extra length of the extra mags kinda defeats the point of a having the compact gun. I'm going to try new mags and ammo, I was using Federal American Eagle which has always worked well for me.

Yeah, try another mag.  I've never had a problem with mine.
