Okay I must confess I've been out of it (the gun world, that is) for a while.  If my memory serves me correctly, didn't the Glock .45 have problems (feeding, jamming, not really sure)?  If so, has this been corrected in subsequent models?  I only ask becase I LOVE my G17, but have considered bumping up to .45 (and would naturally like to stick with Glock).

Many, many years ago, ie, 1992, my Glock 21 had difficulty feeding our issued .45 ammo. I want to say it was a CCI round. All I remember was it was called the flying ashtray. It was too short and would hang up on the feed ramp. I promptly sold it and took the issued .40 caliber which I carried until I retired.

I now use Federal HST 230gr +P almost exclusively as well as whatever range ammo SGC or Caswell's has at the time. I have not had a single malfunction in either of my gen4 21's

I  havn't heard of a problem of any kind with Glock 45's. I own a Gen 3-21 a Gen 3-21SF and a gen 2.5-30 and they will eat anything you stick in the with excellent accuracy. And to the above poster the Flying ashtray round was Corbon. Which they still make but all my Glocks eat it up like candy. LOL

Portland Police had some issues with two Glock 21's that kaboomed several years ago... I don't know if a cause was ever found...

I have had a Glock 30 for 14 years and never had an issue with it... and just recently purchased a 21SF..

For the most part I have heard nothing but good things about them, and wouldn't hesitate for a minute to recommend them to someone looking for a .45 acp Firearm...

The "Portland Police" bugaboo was ammo-related.  That was resolved at the time, but Portland P.D. refused to acknowledge their use of crappy ammo.  I blew up my first G21; however, unlike those dolts at Porland P.D., I have integrity.  I blew mine up shooting .400 Cor-Bons, using powder that was too fast and a bullet that was too heavy.  Suffered a feedramp-jam-induced setback and ruined my first G21.

There are no problems with Glock .45ACPs.  Oh, yeah, those Einisteins @ the L.A. Sheriff's office did experience some problems as a result of their squirting oil into the striker channels.  The NYPD also had a "mysterious" problem with their G19s, which are of the most reliable of Glocks.  As you can detect from the pattern delineated here, the problem is with the lack of intellectual requirements for getting into law enforcement, not the design of Glocks.

Look up "Bigbore" and "Glock 21 torture test" on youtubes.

the G21 is the most reliable hammer on the planet.

My 21 stovepiped once when my wife limp wristed it with 185gr target loads. Other than that, it has been flawless for 3k rounds.
