My uncle in law has a 4" Python he'd like to get rid of. I think we're both looking for a value fair to both of us.
My question on value is how does refinishing affect it? The revolver was refinished by Ford's with their Master blue finish. It's a great looking gun and locks up nice. Thoughts? |

I think most would agree that a re-blue by any outfit other than the Colt factory automatically puts the gun into "beater" status ---- but the good thing is , beater Pythons still fetch $1200 or so Pics would help though +1, when you refinish / reblue a firearm it equals 0% original finish. Original finish is where the $$$ comes in. I would say if its not heavily polished and scrubbed 800-1200 would be a fair value.. hard to say without pictures. |

Fords is just about as good as it gets when it comes to refinishing Colts (maybe with the exception of Turnbull) ........might not take as big of a hit as you think.....
