I am planning my first(hopefully of many) 1911 build. I am wanting to do my first build on a budget. I would like to keep it under 700. That elminates Caspian frames.... Any reccomendations for a soild quality frame & slide? If I can do good enough on that I plan tto use as many keey Wilson "bullet proof" parts as I can stretch in it. It will be a clean basic 5" 1911 build.

          Thanks for the help guys!

Sarco has/had used Colt 70 slides for around a C note.
Find the money for a basic Caspian forged frame for the kit.  No reason to spend that much time building on a casted frame (read not a big fan of peening casted frame rails).

I'm still thinking about caspian's traditional frame as this will be an old school style a1. Just looking for other choices. What is the general concensis on Norinco's frames? Thanks for the help guys!
