Is a CCO essentially a commander slide atop an officer frame? If not, what features make a pistol a CCO? (Other than who made it) Question answered

Bump with new question.

Can an unmodified Commander slide assembly be put on an
unmodified officer frame assembly and produce a functioning pistol?

Yes/no/ "MOST PROBABLY"

The big leap is with the 5" government slide over non-gov frames. The ciener "commander or officer" 22 kits for example, are marketed for either officers or commanders and will fit both frames. The No or the lingering doubt over the "most probably" (that which doesn't make it most definitely) is the individual components used. Tight rails or out of spec components may require minor fitting of the slide and or frame rails, but if given the clearances afforded by a GI style pistols, an commander slide should drop on a compact frame without a problem
