The leather struts that attach to the holster body and belt clips, how quick do they loosen up and allow the holster to sag? Or do they?

I'm still carrying EDC in the first CTAC I ever bought, which I got 4-5 years ago. I've bought others for other makes and models over time. Once setting the retention, I have never had to tighten any of the screws on my CTAC, they have never loosened. The attachment point of the struts is very strong.

I think I misworded my question. How bad is the leather itself for loosening up (breaking in)  and allowing to sag? I have always used Crossbreed type and never had any issues. But with the CTAC there is not much material there. Also can it be replaced if it does?

I checked Comp-tac's website and saw no way to order replacements except for the belt clips.

I never had this issue and I've been carrying a 92FS in one for years.

If a Beretta 92 doesn't pull them down, nothing else should. Thank you.

I've never had a problem with the leather struts sagging or breaking down in any way. The CTAC is good to go.

Thank you Sir. Have one on it's way. Have you ever noticed these stupid questions are always asked after an order is placed?

I've been EDCing one for four years and the leather is fine.

Oh, I've asked plenty of stupid questions about something that I just purchased and have not yet received! Fortunately for you, in this instance, the CTAC rocks ass, so you've got no worries.

I have some of Comp-tac's "mole skin" on the way to try on the back of my CTAC. Since the CTAC's body is kydex, it's possible for the holster to move against the clothing that is between you and the holster IWB. Now, with a proper belt at the proper tightness, this movement is very minimal with the CTAC. The mole skin is supposed to basically eliminate any of this possible movement. I'm going to try it out and see. There's a chance that it'll just get removed, but how will I know unless I try?

I have some of it coming as well. I have used Crossbreed type (Crossbreed or Theis) for years and loved them. I always see these two or sometimes the MTAC compared. Thought I would try one for shits and giggles. I bought another gun for CC (HK P2000) and was going to order something anyway, so I thought now was the time to try one. I'm also thinking about ordering some of their C-clips. They look a little less conspicuous. But I mainly wear Wilderness belts now instead of leather, so I don't know if that would make a difference or not.

I had some of the c-clips for a while. They are definitely less obvious, especially if you are tucking over the holster. What I didn't like about them was that the belt had to be threaded through the clips to put it on. With the standard clips, the holster can go on the belt after the belt has been put through all the pant loops. It was a little more awkward/cumbersome putting on the holster with the c-clips for me, especially when tucking over. I know a lot of people use them, so it may just be me.

My CTAC I bought used about 3 years ago and it still doesn't sag. I have the older style (kydex) C-clips and they have worked well. I really only use them because they were what it came with but I haven't had a problem with them and they hold well. I probably should get replacements for when they eventually break but they are going strong so far. I'll probably just get the regular clips to replace for the ease of positioning the holster. I never tuck it so the low profile of the C-clips doesn't have any benefit to me.

FWIW, my Instructor belt is perfectly sized for the C-clips and I can just snap them on. I put my pants/belt on and then have to put the holster on with the clips between the pants and belt and then snap on.
