Hi every one,
I have recently gotten a lee classic kit and have a question about felt recoil. I just finished my first 50 reloads and they all cycled fine but the ones that had the Remington 1 1/2 small pistol primers felt like they shot softer then the ones I loaded with Winchester, and no the are not magnum primers. What could be the cause of it. I measured every piece out completely and then measured the overall casing length and weight. They were nearly identical. Powder charge, bullet weight, overall length, even the casing weights and thickness was virtually identical. Just curious. And for those who said that the lee kit would be a waste, you are right. I'm starting to save up for a press! Thanks Mr. O |

All primer brands are not made and feed the same.
I've found #500's and WSP work better in my 9mm loads (meaning I like how they go bang) compared 1 1/2 and Fed #100's. I load pistol on a SDB/650. Primer's being struck lighter will be the production not the actual seating that will make that difference afaik. YMMV. |

Different primers make a big difference. If anyone has chronograph tests, I'd like to see them. I've seen no difference, but have never compared more than two brands. The big difference I've found is that you can back off the hammer spring for a better double action pull and some primers will still fire reliably while some won't. |
