Whats up,

Thanks to everyone here I have finally purchased my first but defintely not last 1911. I picked her up the other day (a springfield stainless loaded) along with two wilson 47D mags and a chip McCormick powermag. Just messing around I noticed a little give in the mag when loaded (i.e the mag was locked in but could be pushed up a tiny bit). I didnt think anything of it until I took her to the range and had two rounds that failed to load using the wilson mags. Is the tiny give in the mag the cause? Is the loose mag normal? What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Jay

All my Wilson mags have a little give/play in them but I've never had any failures. However, I've noticed that new shooters will sometimes fail to fully seat the mag, could that be the case here?

Come back after 500 rounds and see if the gun is still doing it.

I would be more prone to say that it is your fitrst 1911 and a new gun. Some parts may be a little fit a little snug and need time to have the high spots nocked down.

2nd you may just need some time with the pistol to learn  how a bad hold will f-up feeding.

all my mags will move when fully seated and they all feed fine.
