Ok so my XD45 compact came in today from Buds. I have been molesting the pistol for about a half hour now. It is a really cool pistol and I am pleased as can be. I do have a couple questions. 1). The mag release seems really stiff. Will this work itself out with more use? and 2). I also picked up some break free and I have never used it before. Is it safe to use on polymer frames?

thanks. After more molesting, I figured out the mag release is only stiff when the mag is full, so I know it will smooth out over time. I do really like this gun. Glad I got it and cant wait to run some through it. I've gotten into the habit of slapping the bottom of the mag while pressing the mag release; this helps a lot, especially with tac reloads. |

I got my XD-45c about two years ago and it has about 1200 rounds of WWB FMJ down the pipe.
I'm still doing a lot of dry firing and mag insert/release cycles as it still isn't broken in enough to me, but has gotten much better. I probably have 10k+ dry fires on it and the trigger is pretty smooth though. Fully loaded hi-cap mags lock in OK, but the 10rd compact mags when fully loaded are a little more difficult on a closed slide. I don't think it's gonna get any better and I can live with it. It's not a problem with the slide locked back though. |
