My ambi safety seems to be real loose. It will not come all the way down allowing the gun to be fired. You have to push it back in towards the gun then down to fire it. Is this a common issue on these guns? I really just noticed it because I bought a drop leg holster and carrying the gun with a round chambered I would need the safety on. Other than this small issue Ive put a few thousand through her already and havent had an issue yet. Great gun! Thanks for any advice...

I had close to the same problem with mine when I bought it new. But mine fell out during cleaning. I called springfield and had a prepaid label e-mailed to me within 2 min of hanging up. Got it to a fed-ex hub and had a call from them in under 2 weeks. Mine was the same way with the grip on very sticky and not right. I would call them and send her back. Or have a smith replace it on your dime. It is not normal mine came back super tight the way it should be.

I'd say you need your gun fixed.

Springfields come with a lifetime warranty. Call them up, ask them to fix it.

If you don't necessarily need an ambi safety, see if they'll put in a single side one for ya...
