I see Sarco has complete wide frame RIA pistols available with a 14 rd. mag.
Is there a source for a stripped wide frame RIA frame anywhere. I looked at RIA's website and didn't find any.
I have a project in mind. Am I looking for the Holy Grail or are these available anywhere from a dealer? I was going to search Gunbroker but figured the prices there would be high.
TIA

Those are the Caspian doublestack format, not really compatible with Para/RIA style.

The Para-style mags are too wide to fit into the Caspian / Foster frame.

True.

Unless you already have magazines, these are still a good place to start.

iirc better aftermarket for the para type frame.

Me personally I would go with a STI type frame.

I believe you are correct about the aftermarket for Para, but if you are starting with a RIA or Foster frame that may not be the primary reason for your purchase.

I know this, as my 'smithing on 1911's is done on RIA's, not Colts!

My budget is Ford, not BMW.
ETA: I emailed Armscor/RIA in Nevada about availability but have no response yet.

I want to build a wide frame version of the basic Mech Tech CCU sort of like this. (Photo courtesy of Mech Tech)

Bull, SPS, or a STI copy frame maybe

Para used to sell frame kits don't know if they still do.

maybe find a used SA high cap as they use para mags.

A web searched this morning of some other firearm forums shows Para discontinued the frame only sales 2-3 years ago..
I'm not familiar with Bull or SPS and was unaware of SA making them. I could possibly get the RIA wide frame pistol from SARCO, but they have them listed as "Call for availability."
Who has STI copies?

SPS and Phoenix Trinity make copies, but I'm not sure the former has any sort of real distribution network in the US, and the latter seems a bit dicey when it comes to actually delivering product.   I've been waiting on a frame from them since September.

Success! RIA M1911 .45 A2 wide frame Para clone is on the way.
I got a response by email from Armscor in Nevada and they have them- $170 shipped to my FFL. I had them add 2-14 rd. MecGar mags @ $19.99 each.
