| Have recently picked up a Glock MOS and wanted to know what RMR would you put on the MOS. By the way it is a G19 |
|
I purchased the dual illum RMR with a 9MOA green dot (RM05) and have been carrying / shooting it for about a month. It's mounted on a G19MOS and I added suppressor height trijicon sights. It's been a daily carry for me and I shoot it weekly. No issues with zero shifting and I prefer the dual illum to the battery version. I've used it in indoor ranges, outdoor ranges and in a shoot house. The dot gets plenty of light regardless of its source. Holsters were a challenge and I've had to modify two Raven phantoms and a safariland 6820. I have a safariland ALS on order.
Overall I'm very pleased with how rugged, reliable and consistent the sight is. My only regret is that I wish I bought a smaller dot. Not a show stopper, but my next one will be smaller (5-6 MOA). |

I've had four of them. For a range toy or competition they are ok but the quality is very inconsistent. The Trijicon factory reps say that just is what it is. I'm hoping Aimpoint drops something at SHOT this year. Love the concept but screw sending them in every 1500-2000 rounds for warranty work. |

I've been looking for a mini rds to send off with my g19 slide for a while. Unfortunately, I've read too many stories where the rmr craps itself out.
Then Leopold dropped the delta point pro. I bought one to run on an 11.5 in AR and loved it its been durable and rugged and the viewing window is excellent. Almost no tint, zero fish eye at the edge of the glass like ive noticed with some rmr's. Im saving for the triangle reticle dp pro to go on my glock now. |
| I guess I'm the odd one out. I run the RM08A. It's the 12.9 MOA amber triangle. I have it zeroed for the tip of the triangle. Honestly I wanted the green but wasn't able to find it when I wanted one for the price I was paying. But now that I have it I'm really happy with it. Still considering picking up the green and more than likely putting the amber on my AR for either primary or offset backup to the scope. |

I have 2 RM08G's on a G17 that I
carry daily, and another on an one of my FNXT's. I have a third RM08G on order for my other FNXT. I have an older dual illuminated on my G22 that I bought used, that is about a 6 minute dot, but it's orange. That's kind of odd, but it still works, and I got it for a good price. I like the green triangle reticle because I can pick up the color and shape better in most environments quicker & better than any of the amber colored ones. YMMV. John Quoted:
This. Have RM06 on G19 for serious work and RM08G for 3-gun range toy. Quoted:

This issue is with some of the battery
operated versions. The dual illuminated versions, don't this issue, but some complain about the wash out in some conditions. It's not an issue for me, because I run backup tritium iron sights on those guns. John Quoted:

RM06. Worth every penny. Shown intentionally high over Dawson MOS height fiber optics. http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah189/thectsentinel/image_zpsi3v1tixq.jpeg~original Quoted:

| I personally am running the rm08g. The tip of the triangle gives a lot of precision at distance and the 12.9 moa triangle is fast to pick up up close. You also don't have any batteries to deal with. However, in the interest of full disclosure, my first one when tits up after 300rds. Trijicon took care of it but I went 10 weeks without a sight. |

Wow!
What was the failure? John Quoted:

Have recently picked up a Glock MOS and wanted to know what RMR would you put on the MOS. By the way it is a G19 I have an RM01. 3.25 moa with battery. Battery lasts close to 2 years always on, but I change it out yearly; holds zero. Bright enough outdoors in direct sun, and low light. Around 2K rounds with it mounted on a G17, and ran in a couple courses. No malfunctions. However, really have to nail a consistent draw stroke or you'll likely be tilting searching for the dot. |

Co-witnessing irons should solve
this hunting issue. Make a normal presentation to the iron sights. The dot appears. Use it. With a little practice, the dot becomes seconds nature. Then the irons become a natural primary if the optic damaged, or you can't find the dot in an unusual attitude, or some other distraction. The presentation is the same for optic & irons if they co-witness. If your firearm will not allow co- witness irons, IMO, then said handgun should be used only on the range and not for self defense. First the triangle went out while I was shooting. When it came back on it was just a randomly shaped blob about 50moa in size. Trijicon repaired it (lol) and then it have a large finger print on the inner lense and many other specs glowing green.
They eventually sent a new sight and it's been good so far but don't have many rounds through it. Quoted:
