GECO 9mm Luger 124 Grain Hexagon
GECO’s most recent addition to their line-up of 9mm Luger ammunition is their 124 grain “Hexagon” load. This ammunition is advertised as a “match grade” load. The most noticeable feature of this ammunition is the “Hexagon” projectile that GECO states was created for “optimal accuracy.” The bullet has six unique folds in the copper jacket at the meplat that create “stabilization grooves” running down the sides of the copper jacket. CECO claims this produces a “golf ball effect.” 
I chronographed the load from a Glock 19 with a factory original 4" barrel over an Oehler 35P chronograph. The muzzle velocity was 1116 FPS with a standard deviation of 10 PFS. I evaluated the accuracy of the GECO 124 grain Hexagon load from a distance of 25 yards using a Colt 6450 with a free-floated Noveske barrel. 
When using hand-loads topped with the Hornady 125 grain HAP bullet, my Noveske barreled Colt 6450 has turned in 10-shot groups at 25 yards that have extreme spreads of less than a half-inch. 
A 10-shot group of the GECO 124 grain Hexagon ammunition fired from the Noveske barreled 6450 at 25 yards had an extreme spread of 1.15”.

I have some of these from a different manufacturer, that I'm going to test against gel. Pretty sure it's the exact same bullet. The person who requested the test thought they may need a 16" barrel to expand. I was getting 1,23x out of a 16" barrel. |
