Well just got my new toy and got 200 rds of 230gr ball to shoot thru and break it in.  Lubed the slide rail and started shooting.  Not one problem with the feeding or action, not one jam.  However at 20 yards it shoots 5 inches low and 5 inches to the left.  Very disappointed to say the least.  I need some assistance in whom to contact or email about this.  Im hoping kimber's customer service is as good as bushmasters.  I went on the kimber site but seems hard to get into contact with the trouble shooting dept or customer service in general.  I really like the gun and except for that problem everything was fine.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Mark,

I know you will come to love your Kimber soon enough.  Kimbers are top shelf guns, I have owned a fired the heck out of eight 1911’s from Kimber over the last six years. Never had a single problem, not one, I have never even adjusted the sights.

Please take this as it is intended.

It’s the recoil...your are flinching.

Absolutely and perfectly normal, every shooter does it. Good on you to be firing at paper target so you can see your hits.

Slow down a bit, set up at 7 yard and get your mind set on a bull’s eye.  Watch your trigger control, as you already know it needs to be a surprise when the gun goes off. If you jerk or snap the trigger at all a right handed person will force the firearm down and to the left to off set the up coming recoil, it’s just a natural reflex.

Trigger recoil, breathing, front sight focus; stop when you are tired so you don't develop a permanent flinch.

Get some 185 grain ammo in light loads to practice with. Then full power loads for self defense. You know it a good hit that counts, not the number of hits. 200 rounds of full house 230 grain FMJ ammo is a lot, a really lot of recoil for the first day with a new gun.  I have added Houge soft rubber grips to every 1911 I own, it makes a big difference with the comfort and control, less than $20.
