can anyone recommend me a really decent sub-compact/compact .45acp and or .40s&w for less than $600? I was looking at the Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact .45acp but dont see many reviews.. IIRC I would love a Kimber Ultra Carry but its way out of my price range. |

M&P40 Compact, M&P45 compact way out of my price range... looking for sub $600 preferably around $500-$550 with tax The M&P line really shouldn't be out of your price range. Yes the MSRP on Smith's website is high but the actual prices from dealers are in that range. I want to say $479-$529 is what I saw them at the last gun show I went to. Mostly on the lower end of that. I have the full-size and compcat M&P40 and absolutely love those two guns. Try them and find better pricing, check out budsgunshop.com, that's where I got mine from great guys over there. |

If Glocks are out, what about the Springfield XDs. EAA Witness line. or a Star Firestar compact in 45 acp:
Great used guns if you can find them. http://parallaxscurioandrelicfirearmsforums.yuku.com/topic/22862/t/my-old-faithful-star-firestar-45-acp-w-pics.html http://www.gunsamerica.com/908760406/Guns/Pistols/Star-Pistols/STAR_FIRESTAR_45ACP_W_BOX_TWO_MAGS_EXCELLEN.htm $445 with two mags too! |

Bersa has a lifetime warranty IIRC Spotted a nice looking pair of sigs.. the Sig Sauer P250 2Sum in 40S&W .. 1 compact and 1 full size... $700 for the set makes em about $350 each also forgot to mention I was interested in the CZ 2075 Rami compact 9mm If you are looking at Sigs, try to find an older one. The P250 is a serious dog from what I understand. |

The new 380 bodyguard I'd skip too until we know how robust of a design it's going to be. |

It's pure shit and does not live up to Sig's reputation. The 2075 RAMI is a fine pistol. |

Glock 30, Glock 27, M&P40 Compact, M&P45 compact These. I LOVE 1911's, but won't recommend one with less than a 4" barrel. I carry a 5". Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I admit to being a 1911 fanboy. Love the gun, but the M&P45c is better, IMO, as a carry piece due to weight vs concealability concerns. If I were going to open carry, I'd roll with a 1911 Government model. The only 1911 I have right now is a range / project gun, not up to use a CCW anyway. Next year I'm either going to buy an Ed Brown Special Forces or I am going to build my own. Either of these I'd carry. |
