| I am looking to build a Glock with a red dot on it. I am looking to have the sights on it using suppresor sights. Probably will go with Trijicon RMR as well. Whose slide do you recommend for my build? Lone Wolf, Glockworx, Once Source Tactical all offer their slides already milled out for the red dot along with the sight channels. Anyone have pros or cons for any brand? What internals to use in the slides, Glock or aftermarket? Please advise. Pics are also nice. Thanks in advance. |

One Source Tactical will mill your own slide if you wish (what I did) but if not, I would use them for all your goodies...they are running a terrific sale on the Trijicon RMRs as well (25% off) and I would go to Warriortalk.com for more information than you could ever want on this combination...I really like mine...

Bill +1 to all of this, and OST would be who I would choose to do the work over the other companies you mention. I also had my own slide milled and did not use the TSD/OST slide but would have no hesitations using one in the future. |

Another option is Bowie Tactical Concepts http://www.bowietacticalconcepts.com/ I have a Glock into him to put on a Deltapoint and back up sights but it hasn't come back yet.
BTW if you aren't aware and it matters to you One Source Tactical is Gabe Suarez's outfit. |

I find Mr. Suarez to be a straight shooter and honorable...as for the OST GLOCK with Trijicon RMR...excellent combination...a bit less (and smaller, lighter) than getting the FNP 45 Tactical (I have one of them as well) so I find it a good value as well...recently they dropped prices on the milling and also have the Trijicon RMRs on sale right now (25% off list)...warriortalk is a great place to get info as well...good luck with your choice...

BTW if you aren't aware and it matters to you One Source Tactical is Gabe Suarez's outfit. Bowie is who did my 17 for a DeltaPoint. I ordered the DeltaPoint elsewhere and mounted it myself. I also opted to get the supressor sights installed by Bowie. Bowie gives the choice to put the rear supressor sight behind or in front of the red dot, so I called Bowie and he was very helpful to steer me to get the rear sight "in front" of the red dot. I've not regreted the decision and it all fits within a blackhawk holster without any modifications. +1 on the DeltaPoint. I never have to worry about whether it's on or off. Just pickup the pistol and it's automatically on. |

Here's a similar thread of mine that yielded some very helpful replies, especially the pistol-forums.com links about 10 posts down. |

with both of mine (one GLOCK done by OST and the other an FNP-45 Tac) both with Trijicon RMRs, I never chase the red dot...unless you are chasing the sights (I and many others recommend the co-witness sights) on your pistols as well...draw and looking through the screen, the sights are lined up and the red dot is right there...some with an astigmatism have complained of bloom (as we can get with any of these types of sights) and the RM07 (adjustable LED 6.5 dot) can help out if that bothers you...

This is what I came here to post. |

Would it work, yes. Is it optimal, no. That puts the dot quite a bit higher over bore, and looks like it would take quite a bit of practice to get used to finding your POA with the dot that high in comparison to presenting with standard height pistol sights. The best setup is still going to be milling the slide so that you can cowitness with suppressor height sights. I'm still in the learning curve of getting used the the milled slide/RMR combo and I've had it for a few weeks now. |

Quoted: so here is my question on this topic.... the rear iron sight, does it go in front or behind the red dot? Bowie will place it either place, but recommends the rear iron in front of the RDS for protection of the optic and to eliminate the rear iron sight covering up part of the window where the dot may be. |
