I am looking to have a couple of Browning Hi-Power's refinished.
Anyone have any experience with refinishing companies?
I saw a finish that looked perfect for the Hi-Power, the slide was a black/gray and the frame an OD green both in a matte that looked like a parkerized finish.

There is no one here who has refinished a gun and would recommend the finish or the finisher?

Nick  I am currently waiting on a 1911 project, that has been prolonged because of finish problems.  The slide was sent to get a teflon coat and the frame hard chromed.  They went to different companies and both are being returned because of flaws or imperfections.  The slide flaked in a heavy wear area and the chome job had a tiny no stick.  I will be glad to point you in their direction if the problems are corrected.  They were very highly thought of and until this project, mistake free to our knowledge.  This project started out as a 6 month job and looks like might get close to a year. I'm not gettin' any younger either, but good thing come to those that wait, so I've been told. Can't help you on the park  but might be able to get a visual on the teflon/hard chrome within the next month.

Hi,

I had some work done at Accurate Weapons and Plating right here in Clearwater, Fl.

They did a nice job.

Good Luck

Thanks.
I tell you I have had a few things messed up by gunsmiths that either don't know what the heck they are doing or don't seem to care. I have to ask to get a good recomendation before I do anything.
I just sent a Colt off to Wilson to have work done. I had to get a new slide from the gunsmith who buggered it up.

I have done one like what you describe, but don't have photos.  I do have another coming in just for matte and beadblast silver.

There are about 5 different "sheens" of matte black, The most common is the "slight sheen", seen here: www.chameleonweaponry.com/wip/m1stock/m1a-stock-step5-b.jpg

I have done a couple trigger jobs on Hi-Powers, they are a nice handgun.

IM me for more info!

Quite frankly, S&W does the best job for "normal" finishes. They do any or all brands.

For a custom job, Robar out in AZ may be your best bet.

Good luck!
