My dad has a LCP and wanted to know if there was a way to reduce the trigger pull. Is this someting ruger would do or would it require a gunsmith? Is it even possible?

Thanks

I wouldn't bother nor do I think it is possible.  This is not a target gun it is for carry.  That long trigger pull is the only "saftey" the gun is equiped with.  You could Fluff and Buff the internals like the Kel-tec guys do but I would just leave it as is invest in ammo and spend time shooting it.

But it is his gun to do with as he pleases.  Check out KTOG.OGR for the fluff and buff procedures.  I love my LCP, all I did was add the Kel-Tec belt clip.

Have him shoot an KelTec P11...his LCP will feel great after that.

As Charger said, the trigger pull is part of the safety on these small guns.  I don't personally find the pull difficult on the LCP and would be worried if it had a light pull since it's in my pocket or my smartcarry most of the time.

I purchased a new LCP and was wondering if the trigger pull would loosen up? I noticed it was very stiff and hard to pull. How many rounds have you put through yours and did you feel or see any improvement in the tigger pull? Thanks for any of the help you can provide.

I think mine has an excellent trigger for the purpose of the gun.  Smooth and long, you can feel the resistance right in time to stop and finaliaze your aim.  I did 2, 2 inch groups with the first 14 rounds I shot out of it at 7 yards.  I think if I can find more ammo, I can probably do a little better.

I wouldn't touch it.  I don't think you'll notice the trigger pull if you have to use it to defend yourself.  You'll just be very appreciative of the gun for what it is.
